About the Role:

As an Associate Data Scientist at United Airlines, you will work on cutting-edge projects that focus on AI and machine learning to solve complex business challenges and drive innovative solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including technology and business partners, to create data-driven strategies that enhance operations across multiple departments such as Airport Operations, Network Planning, Revenue Management, and more.

You’ll be responsible for deploying AI & ML solutions, automating manual processes, and driving increased revenue and customer engagement. In this role, you will:

• Work with data scientists and various stakeholders to deliver high-quality models 📊
• Analyze operational data and offer fact-based, data-driven recommendations
• Utilize machine learning and optimization tools to solve business problems
• Enable data transfer between platforms and monitor model performance

Responsibilities:

• Partner with business and technology leaders to deploy AI & ML solutions
• Work with cross-functional teams to influence strategic decisions
• Gather, analyze, and provide insights from United’s operational data
• Execute business solutions using data analysis and machine learning techniques
• Research the latest machine learning approaches and share knowledge
• Collaborate with data engineering teams for seamless deployment of models

Required Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you should have the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree (BTech/BE) in Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, or related fields
• Up to 3 years of relevant work experience in analytics or data science
• Strong skills in Python/R, SQL, and Excel
• Familiarity with machine learning algorithms like Bagging, Boosting, and Clustering
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on teamwork
