Role Overview
The Python Systems Engineer Intern will work on developing robust backend systems and integrating software with hardware components. This role involves working on multithreaded and asynchronous applications, building APIs, and contributing to large-scale Python codebases.

Interns will collaborate with engineers and researchers in a fast-paced R&D environment, gaining exposure to both software and hardware systems. This is not just a coding role—it requires problem-solving, system design thinking, and the ability to work across multiple domains.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and debug multithreaded and multiprocessing Python applications
  • Implement inter-process communication (IPC) mechanisms like sockets and shared memory
  • Build and maintain REST APIs and Python-based command-line tools
  • Work with asynchronous programming models using async/await
  • Contribute to large and modular Python codebases
  • Implement communication protocols such as gRPC and Protocol Buffers
  • Integrate software with hardware using GPIO, I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN
  • Collaborate using Git, GitHub, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Operate in Linux environments using shell tools and scripting

Salary (Stipend)

  • ₹18,000 – ₹20,000 per month
  • Industry estimate for full-time conversion (if offered): ₹4 LPA – ₹8 LPA (depending on skills and performance)

Who Can Apply
Candidates who meet the following criteria are eligible:

  • Available for a full-time, in-office internship in Bangalore
  • Can start between 7th April 2026 and 12th May 2026
  • Available for a duration of 6 months
  • Have relevant technical skills and strong interest in systems engineering

Educational Qualification

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in Python (system-level programming)
  • Knowledge of multithreading and multiprocessing
  • Experience with REST APIs and FastAPI
  • Familiarity with SQL and databases
  • Understanding of Linux environments and shell scripting
  • Knowledge of asynchronous programming (async/await)

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with C, C++, or Rust
  • Exposure to IoT or embedded systems
  • Knowledge of microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with gRPC and Protocol Buffers
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions
