Role Overview

As a Software Security Engineer, you will design, build, and scale internal security tooling and automation that safeguards Meesho’s products and infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with platform, SRE, and product engineering teams to integrate security controls directly into the SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, and runtime environments. This role emphasizes building security as code—providing developers with fast, actionable feedback instead of manual tickets.

Key Responsibilities

Security Tooling and Automation

• Build internal security tools and pipelines for SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets scanning
• Automate repetitive security workflows using Python, Go, or Node.js
• Develop APIs and dashboards to expose real-time security telemetry
• Integrate security checks into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or ArgoCD
• Enforce automated security gates across repositories

Secure Software Development

• Write production-grade, maintainable code that improves security posture
• Contribute to internal frameworks for secure code review and dependency risk detection
• Partner with developers to build security libraries and SDKs that promote secure-by-default practices

Threat Modeling and Design Reviews

• Conduct security architecture and threat modeling reviews for new features
• Translate security findings into engineering solutions and automation guardrails
• Create reusable threat modeling templates and scripts that scale across teams

Application Security Testing

• Perform and automate web, API, and mobile application security testing
• Correlate findings across multiple scanners and reduce false positives
• Build developer-friendly validation tools, fuzzers, and local testing utilities

Developer Enablement and Security Culture

• Contribute to internal security documentation and workshops
• Promote developer-first security automation with faster feedback loops
• Continuously identify opportunities to eliminate manual security effort through code

Required Skills and Qualifications

• B.Tech or M.Tech in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
• 1–2 years of hands-on experience in software development and application security
• Strong coding skills in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js
• Bonus experience with React or TypeScript
• Solid understanding of web technologies, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines
• Familiarity with security tools such as Burp, Nuclei, ZAP, Trivy, or Semgrep
• Knowledge of AWS or GCP security fundamentals
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and DevSecOps workflows
• Hands-on experience integrating security checks into GitHub Actions or Jenkins
