Role Overview
As a Junior Data Engineer, you will be responsible for building, supporting, and optimizing data pipelines and analytics solutions. The role involves developing ETL/ELT processes, creating business intelligence dashboards, and ensuring data quality and accuracy. You will also participate in software development lifecycle processes and provide end-user support for applications. This role is ideal for candidates looking to gain exposure to modern data engineering tools and cloud technologies in a structured, fast-growing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize skills in data warehousing, business intelligence, and databases (Snowflake, SQL Server, T-SQL)
- Support ETL and ELT programming using tools like dbt, Azure Data Factory, SSIS
- Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and business intelligence systems
- Collect, analyze, and document user requirements for data projects
- Participate in software validation through development, testing, and execution of test plans/cases/scripts
- Create software applications following SDLC processes including requirements gathering, development, testing, release, and maintenance
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding projects, development, and tools
- Provide end-user support including installation and maintenance of applications

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field
- Internship experience in Data or Software Engineering
- Basic knowledge of SQL Server databases and data modeling (Star/Snowflake schema)
- Solid understanding of ETL development and reporting processes
- Knowledge of Python and REST API is preferred
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Snowflake cloud data warehouse, Fivetran, and dbt transformations
- Knowledge of C# and Azure development is a plus
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and data validation
