Role Overview
As an Associate Software Engineer, you will be part of the product delivery team for Maersk’s Customs Platform. You will work on developing, enhancing, and maintaining platform components that support scalability, performance, and reliability. This role offers exposure to modern backend development, cloud platforms, and distributed systems while collaborating closely with product managers and customers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, build, test, maintain, and enhance the Customs Platform
Build and maintain platform components to improve developer productivity and system reliability
Ensure seamless integration between tools and services across the platform
Focus on performance, scalability, security, and reliability through monitoring and automation
Contribute across the entire product lifecycle from design to operationalization
Collaborate with Product Managers and customers to deliver new features and support the product roadmap

Required Skills and Qualifications
0–3 years of experience in software engineering, application development, or platform engineering
Hands-on or academic experience with Java, Spring, and related frameworks
Strong fundamentals of distributed systems design and development
Experience building and maintaining APIs
Basic understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or FluxCD
Understanding of SDLC processes and engineering best practices
Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
Good to Have Skills
Exposure to MongoDB or PostgreSQL
Experience with Apache Kafka or event streaming technologies
Knowledge of Azure Cloud
Exposure to Kubernetes
Awareness or hands-on learning of Agentic AI and AI frameworks
