Role Overview

As a DIH Intern, Data Engineering, you will assist with building, maintaining, and enhancing data and platform solutions. You will contribute to the software development lifecycle, support BI reporting, manage data lakes, and work on Hadoop clusters and cloud platforms. The internship provides a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience across data engineering, BI engineering, and platform engineering, while learning best practices from senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities:

  • Translate business requirements and functional specifications into data or platform solutions.
  • Assist in developing, configuring, or modifying integrated business and enterprise applications.
  • Support software deployment, testing (SIT and UAT), and end-to-end product lifecycle activities.
  • Apply computer science fundamentals and learn software architecture principles.
  • Research new technologies and implement innovative solutions.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions under guidance.

Data Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain, and enhance data lake ingestion pipelines for DBMS and file system data.
  • Support creation and optimization of data curation pipelines.
  • Monitor analytic capabilities and maintain data health.

BI Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and enhance BI solutions, including basic reports, filters, and metrics.
  • Understand attributes, facts, transformations, and SQL generation.
  • Monitor jobs, cubes, and platform health, and resolve access requests.

Platform Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Administer Hadoop clusters in DTQ and Production.
  • Perform application installs, upgrades, patching, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain cluster security, automate routine tasks, and manage user provisioning.
  • Assist in designing hybrid cloud solutions for infrastructure and platforms.
