Role Overview
The DevOps Engineer role at Lenskart focuses on reliability, scalability, and automation. You will participate in designing cloud-native platforms, managing Kubernetes clusters, building CI/CD pipelines, and implementing observability and monitoring solutions.
This role involves collaborating with software engineers, architects, and security teams to ensure robust, resilient, and secure platforms for Lenskart’s product teams.

Responsibilities
Candidates for this role will be responsible for:
- Platform & Cloud Engineering: Design and operate cloud-native platforms, manage Kubernetes clusters, and build reusable infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Reliability Engineering: Define SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; lead incident response and postmortems; automate operational tasks.
- CI/CD & DevOps: Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines using GitOps principles, ensuring safe and frequent production deployments.
- Observability & Operations: Implement monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting solutions; maintain dashboards, runbooks, and self-healing mechanisms.
- Architecture & Collaboration: Review infrastructure and application architecture, collaborate with software engineers and security teams, and advocate best practices in SRE, DevOps, and cloud-native engineering.

Skills Required
Core Engineering & Programming:
- Strong foundation in Linux, networking (DNS, TCP/IP), and distributed systems
- Proficiency in Python or Go for automation
- Clean Git practices and software engineering discipline
Cloud & Containerization:
- Hands-on experience with AWS (primary), GCP/Azure is a plus
- Experience operating Kubernetes clusters in production
- Helm and containerized workload management
Infrastructure & Tooling:
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform
- Configuration Management: Chef/Ansible (preferred)
- CI/CD & GitOps: ArgoCD, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI
Observability & Reliability:
- Monitoring and alerting: Prometheus, Grafana, Alertmanager
- Tracing/APM: Datadog, New Relic, OpenTelemetry
- Incident management: PagerDuty or equivalent
Data & Messaging (Working Knowledge):
- Datastores: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
- Streaming & search: Kafka, Elasticsearch
- Caching: Redis
Educational Background
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field
- Academic projects or coursework in cloud computing, containerization, Linux systems, networking, or automation
- Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, CKA/CKAD, Terraform are advantageous
