Role Overview
As a Software Engineer I – BigFix, you will be responsible for designing and implementing solutions that resolve customer business challenges and eliminate technical objections.
The role involves working closely with enterprise customers to:
- Automate infrastructure operations
- Manage complex Proof of Concepts (PoCs)
- Customize BigFix deployments
- Build scalable and high-availability (HA/DR) solutions
- Conduct automation assessments
This position requires strong cross-platform knowledge across Windows and UNIX/Linux systems and an understanding of enterprise IT security and compliance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Design solutions to resolve customer infrastructure and automation challenges.
- Manage and facilitate complex Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Customize BigFix deployments to meet enterprise requirements.
- Build scalable, redundant, and HA/DR BigFix solutions.
- Implement patch management for Windows, Linux, and UNIX systems.
- Conduct automation assessments to reduce manual workloads.
- Support compliance and vulnerability management through HCL Automation Suite.
- Practice server build and hardening using HCL OSD or Tivoli Provisioning Manager.
- Support custom software deployment and release lifecycle management.

Technical Skills Required
- Infrastructure management experience with BigFix (implementation to operations).
- Patch management across Windows, Linux, and UNIX platforms.
- Knowledge of configuration management and reporting.
- Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Puppet, Chef, and Ansible.
- Understanding of compliance and vulnerability management solutions.
- Experience with cross-platform environments (Windows & UNIX/Linux).
- Scripting skills in Bash and custom relevance scripting.
