About the Team
The Infrastructure and Platforms team at Walmart Global Tech plays a critical role in building the technology foundation that supports Walmart’s massive ecosystem. This includes:
Data platforms that power analytics and decision-making
Enterprise architecture supporting large-scale systems
Cloud computing and DevOps platforms
Secure, scalable infrastructure for stores, digital channels, and distribution centers
As a Grad Intern, you’ll gain exposure to how foundational platforms are built and maintained at global scale.
Role Overview – Grad Intern
As a Grad Intern at Walmart, you will work as part of a collaborative software engineering team building scalable, production-grade systems. Interns contribute to live projects, participate in agile workflows, and learn directly from experienced engineers and technical leaders.
You’ll work across domains such as retail systems, supply chain, finance, logistics, mobile platforms, and cloud infrastructure, gaining a well-rounded engineering experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable software systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product, design, and data
- Solve complex engineering challenges in AI/ML, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms
- Participate in agile development cycles, sprint planning, and retrospectives
- Take part in code reviews and innovation sprints
- Build and maintain software that enhances customer and associate experiences
- Work on domains such as supply chain, retail platforms, finance, logistics, and mobile development
- Use technologies like Java, Hadoop, Cassandra, ERP systems, machine learning tools, and open-source frameworks

Required Qualifications
- Final-year students (Class of 2026) pursuing a degree in:
- Computer Science
- Software Engineering
- Or related technical fields
- No prior full-time work experience required
- Indian nationals currently enrolled in US universities
Technical Skills Required
- Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript
- Solid understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Basic knowledge of system design principles
- Familiarity with tools and platforms such as:
- GitHub
- Copilot
- Qodo Merge
- DX AI Chat
Preferred Skills (Good to Have)
- Exposure to AI/ML concepts or cloud computing
- Experience with open-source projects
- Understanding of distributed systems
