Role Overview

The Glencore Junior Data Manager role focuses on managing and maintaining high-quality market data used across the organization. You will analyze business data needs, develop reference data and metadata, and ensure consistency of standards across data operations.

In this role, you will act as a Data Steward for Market Prices, ensuring data accuracy and availability while sharing knowledge across teams. You will also support business intelligence initiatives that help monitor and control data-related operations effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Streamline data collection and analysis processes to ensure fast access to metrics and insights
• Develop and maintain reference data and metadata, including valid values and terminology
• Define and implement data management protocols and operational standards
• Maintain the business glossary, including business rules, data standards, and quality guidelines
• Own and manage the complete data lifecycle from creation to retirement
• Identify, analyze, and resolve market data–related issues efficiently
• Act as the Data Steward for Market Prices and share domain knowledge across teams
• Collaborate with engineering teams on data products and data services development
• Support monitoring and control of data-related operations using business intelligence
• Perform ad hoc data operations tasks as required

Skills and Experience Required

• Advanced education in statistics, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
• 1–3 years of overall professional experience in data operations or data management
• Strong knowledge of data management principles and data governance
• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL for data analysis and validation
• Experience or familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker
• Knowledge of workflow management tools like Apache Airflow is desirable
