Role Overview
The Calix Graduate Trainee role focuses on providing Level 1 technical support and monitoring for systems and infrastructure. You will act as the first point of contact for technical issues, ensuring high system availability, performance, and reliability.
In this role, you will monitor alerts, perform initial troubleshooting, manage incidents, and escalate issues within defined SLAs. You will also collaborate with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure timely resolution of incidents. This apprenticeship provides hands-on exposure to monitoring tools, ticketing systems, and enterprise infrastructure operations.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide 24×7 technical support for applications, servers, virtual infrastructure, and network-related issues
• Monitor system alerts using tools such as Zabbix, SolarWinds, or similar platforms
• Perform Level 1 troubleshooting and escalate issues within SLA timelines
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues
• Manage escalations and communicate effectively with clients and vendors
• Handle Jira ticket queues, ensuring timely acknowledgment and resolution
• Monitor Slack and Microsoft Teams channels for reactive issues
• Respond promptly to incidents to minimize MTTR
• Participate in incident detection, response, and resolution processes
• Maintain accurate documentation of technical issues and resolutions
