Job Overview
As an Application Engineer 1, you will work closely with technical and application teams to identify vulnerabilities, plan patching activities, and ensure systems remain secure and up to date. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and vendors, handling server upgrades, and supporting application teams during patching and remediation activities. Occasional on-call support or extended working hours may be required based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
• Planning, scheduling, execution, and coordination of patching activities
• Performing OS patching on Windows, UNIX, and Red Hat Linux systems
• Managing vulnerabilities identified through Kenna and Qualys scan results
• Handling WebLogic upgrades, Apache Tomcat updates, Java upgrades, and certificate renewals
• Coordinating with multiple technical and application teams for patching activities
• Resolving SSL issues and cleaning up application servers
• Assisting application teams during maintenance and remediation tasks
• Reporting Kenna vulnerability findings and tracking remediation progress
• Working with vendor teams to resolve patching-related issues
• Providing on-call support or extended working hours when required
