How to Prepare and Participate

2. Attend the Pre-Hackathon Webinars: Do not miss these expert-led sessions. They are designed to give you insights into Application Security and prepare you for the types of challenges you will face. This is free training from industry professionals!
3. Understand the Format & Guidelines:
* The event is online; all times are in IST (Indian Standard Time).
* Individual participation only. No teams allowed.
* Participants must adhere to all game rules and CTF (Capture The Flag) infrastructure guidelines.
* Any attacks on the infrastructure, Denial-of-Service (DoS) attempts, or collaboration for multiple entries are strictly disallowed.
* The organizers’ decisions will be final and binding.
4. Brush Up on Key AppSec Topics: While the webinars will help, having a base knowledge is key. Focus on:
* Common Vulnerabilities: Review the OWASP Top 10 (e.g., Injection, Broken Authentication, Sensitive Data Exposure).
* CTF Basics: Understand common CTF challenge types (Web Exploitation, Cryptography, Forensics).
* Tools: Familiarize yourself with basic security testing tools used in web app penetration testing.
5. Prepare for a Two-Round Process:
* Round 1 (Assessment): Likely to involve MCQs or initial challenges to filter participants.
* Round 2: This will be the main CTF (Capture The Flag) event where you solve gamified security challenges.
