This is a 3-month paid internship where you’ll have the opportunity to work on API development, database management, and system architecture. If you have experience with Python, PostgreSQL, and REST APIs, this internship is the perfect way to further hone your backend development skills in a fast-paced, innovative startup environment.

Responsibilities

As a Backend Development Intern, your responsibilities will include:

• API Development: Develop and maintain efficient, scalable RESTful APIs using Python and frameworks like FastAPI.
• Database Management: Design and optimize relational and non-relational databases, with a focus on PostgreSQL.
• System Architecture: Build modular, microservices-based backend systems focusing on scalability and fault tolerance.
• Integration: Seamlessly integrate external systems and APIs to extend platform functionality.
• Performance Optimization: Continuously improve backend performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Security: Implement best practices for securing APIs, databases, and server-side logic, adhering to security guidelines like OWASP.
• Cloud & Containerization: Deploy and manage services using Docker and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Collaboration: Work with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and product teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.

Skills and Experience Required

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Python and FastAPI for API development.
  • Strong experience with PostgreSQL and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Familiarity with Docker and containerization.
  • Experience in building and maintaining RESTful APIs.
  • Knowledge of security practices such as OWASP guidelines.
• Soft Skills:
  • Startup or fast-paced experience is a plus, showing adaptability in dynamic environments.
  • Proactive, outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to manage time and tasks autonomously.
  • A critical mindset that challenges the status quo, contributing new ideas for improved processes and solutions.
