• Open to students, fresh graduates, who have passed High School, Higher Secondary School, possess a certificate from an ITI, hold a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or are graduates with degrees such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc. are eligible.
• Applicants must meet specific academic and age criteria based on the internship role.

2. Duration and Structure

• Internships are offered for up to 12 months.
• Participants can apply for up to five preferred roles, but they may receive only two offers.

3. Recognition and Certification

• Interns receive a certificate of completion upon successfully finishing their internship.

4. Employment Guarantee

• While the scheme boosts employability, it does not guarantee a job post-internship.

5. Support and Grievance Redressal

What are the eligibility criteria for this internship?

Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Age: Must be between 21 and 24 years old as of the last date of application.
• Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen.
• Employment/Education Status: Should not be employed full-time or engaged in full-time education. Candidates enrolled in online/distance learning programmes are eligible.

What is the monthly stipend?

Interns receive monthly assistance of ₹5,000 during the 12-month internship. This is split as follows:

• ₹500 is paid by the hosting company, based on attendance, good conduct, and company policies, from their CSR funds.
• ₹4,500 is transferred directly to the intern’s Aadhaar-linked bank account by the government via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).
• Companies may provide additional assistance over ₹500 at their discretion.

Are interns provided with insurance coverage?

Yes, insurance coverage is provided under government schemes:

• Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana
• Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana
  The premium for these schemes is covered by the government. Additionally, companies may choose to provide extra accidental insurance coverage for interns.

What are the ineligibility criteria for this internship?

The following individuals are ineligible to apply:

• If the family income exceeds ₹8 lakh for FY 2023-24.
• If any member of the family is a permanent/regular government employee.

• “Family” includes the applicant, their parents, and spouse.
• “Government” includes Central and State Governments, UT administrations, Central and State PSUs, statutory organizations, local bodies, etc.
• “Employee” refers to regular/permanent employees, excluding contractual employees.
