Role Overview – DevOps Engineer
As a DevOps Engineer (Fresher) at NEC, you will support the cloud and infrastructure team in deploying and managing containerized applications using Red Hat OpenShift, as well as maintaining CI/CD pipelines. This position is ideal for candidates with 0–1 year of experience, including academic projects or internships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Deploying and managing containerized applications on Red Hat OpenShift
- Using Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift for container orchestration
- Performing Linux system administration tasks: user management, file permissions, package installation, and service management
- Troubleshooting application, container, and cluster-level issues
- Monitoring system logs using tools like
journalctl,top,ps,netstat - Supporting CI/CD pipeline setup and maintenance (Jenkins/GitHub/GitLab)
- Working with YAML files for Kubernetes/OpenShift configuration
- Maintaining documentation and following DevOps best practices
